At 18, Emma Roberts, Eric's daughter and Julia's niece, is poised to carry on the family legacy--and escape its shadow. Having begun her career at the tender age of nine, as Johnny Depp's daughter in the drug-smuggling drama Blow, she cultivated a teen fan base through the Nickelodeon TV show Unfabulous and through G-rated flicks like Nancy Drew and the recent Hotel For Dogs. Now of voting age, Roberts is ready to graduate from "child-friendly" to "more mature," as evidenced in her latest film, Lymelife, a quirky indie starring Rory Culkin and Alec Baldwin. VF.com caught up with her in New York.
